  • Real Estate, Property & Conveyancing – anything to do with land and buildings including the transfer of property, both buying and selling; leasing of houses, farms, business premises; rural property conveyancing; strata title and community title advice; old system law. Louise Dix is the only Law Society Accredited Specialist in Property Law in the Hastings Council Local Government Area
  • Family Law & Defacto Relationships – advice on how best to protect yourself when entering into a relationship and what steps you need to take when a relationship is rocky or over; including prenuptial agreements, property division, contact orders concerning children, same sex relationships
  • Wills, Powers of Attorney and Guardianship appointments – documents that each of us should have to protect us when we are vulnerable (not capable of looking after our own affairs) and to ensure that our hard earned assets pass after our death to those we would like to have them, including advice on how to arrange your assets now so that the wishes you express in your will can be put into effect.
  • Probate and estates – helping executors to carry out their duties under a will, and helping families to sort out the deceased’s affairs where no will can be found.
  • Business Law – when you set up a business and need help to comply with the legal requirements; if you are buying a business, to ensure that you get what you pay for; when selling, to ensure that your liabilities come to an end when the business is sold; advice when you are running a business, with employees, OH&S, licensing, franchises, competitors, passing on the business to the next generation.
  • Litigation – if you have a right to sue or to receive compensation or if you are being sued, or receive any court documents, you will need quick and accurate advice to make sure you do not lose your rights or have the Court make orders without hearing your side of the story.
